Condo Conversions & Redevelopment In Shelton, CT
Here’s a link to an article in the CT Post:  http://www.connpost.com/shelton
The article discusses redevelopment in our downtown area on the riverfront, and includes an interesting aerial photo that points out projects slated for the neighborhood.  I especially like the old corset factory that was converted to condos by John Guedes of Primrose Development.   I remember walking by the building back when I was in high school, and thinking that it could be turned into the ultimate living environment. I’m glad to see that someone else had that vision and the means to do something positive and useful with the property today.
The condos that have been constructed there are attractive, affordable, and definitely special. To me, they don’t look like run-of-the-mill condos. They are functional and modern, yet a lot of the historic charm and intrigue of the old building was retained. Although the corset factory was converted, I’ve been reading that some of the other buildings are expected to be teardowns in order to allow for more new construction in the form of condos, office & some retail.
I think John has some great creative vision and smart growth ideas for downtown - and I am anxious to see what other good things he has in store for us.Â
