I closely monitor the teardown activity throughout the country. Today is yet an other addition to my list; Johnson County, Kansas.
FOX just did an episode on this trend in Prairie Village, KS “Home Buyers Building Bigger Homes In Tear Down Trend.”
No surprise there. This Village fits the profile of an ideal “teardown” community - close to a job center (10 miles from Kansas City), above median income, good schools, low crime, nice parks and other public facilities, tree-lined streets …. [ data ]
What did surprise me, is the residents’ lack of enthusiasm in objecting to teardowns. Usually it’s more passionate.
